    About the Safari Roof Rack

    The Weldbeat Safari Roof Rack is built for serious touring. Designed specifically for the Mercedes Sprinter 907, it delivers a lightweight yet extremely strong platform for mounting accessories, solar panels, storage boxes, recovery gear, and more.

    Constructed from TIG-welded aluminium, the rack features an integrated T-slot modular system, so you can configure your layout exactly how you need it — awnings, light bars, Maxtrax, or custom mounts all bolt straight on.

    Engineered to sit cleanly with the Sprinter’s body lines, it provides a low-profile, aerodynamic solution without compromising strength or usable space.

    Installation

    Recommended fitment is to OEM roof rails.

    Jayco Sprinter owners: the factory Fiamma awning and brackets interfere with fitment and must be removed. An alternative Fiamma awning setup is required — see the Accessories tab for our recommendation.

    Step 1 — Choose the right rack for your Sprinter

    Your Safari Roof Rack needs to match your van’s roof height and wheelbase:

    • Fits both Standard/Short Roof (H1) and High Roof (H2) Sprinter models
    • High Roof is available in Medium Wheelbase (L1) and Long Wheelbase (L2)
    • Short Roof is only available in Medium Wheelbase (L1)

    Step 2 — Choose your mounting method

    OEM Mercedes roof rails (recommended): bolts on without needing interior access. If you’re also planning a side ladder or pole system, having the OEM rails in place makes that install easier down the track.

    Direct-to-roof brackets: mounts using the existing roof holes for brackets. Best done before fit-out, since it needs interior access to secure the brackets. If interior access isn’t available, nut serts can be used instead — just make sure they’re properly sealed to prevent leaks.

    Step 3 — Configure your floor decking

    The platform’s two T-slot rails let you lay out decking exactly how you need it. Dimensions vary by model:

    Model A (H1L1) A (H2L1) A (H2L2) B (width)
    Sprinter High Roof — 3130mm 4165mm 1370mm
    Sprinter Short Roof 3543mm — — 1548mm

    Decking is fully modular. Combine the Main Decking Plate with End, Side and Edge Connector plates to leave clean gaps around roof vents, and add Solar Brackets wherever you need them — see the Accessories tab for the full decking range.

    Awnings

    The rack is compatible with Fiamma and Thule awning systems.

    • Long Wheelbase vans: we recommend the Fiamma F45s 450

    Light bars

    Mount a light bar using clamps designed for 40mm-diameter tubing — Stedi clamps are a good fit. Our STEDI Vice Tube Clamps also come in larger sizes if you're mounting to a thicker bar.

    Roof Decking Range

    The Main Decking Plate gives you a spacious, stable platform for walking, sitting, or securely mounting your gear. Pair it with our connector decking plates — purpose-built to sit around roof vents — and you can create a clean gap wherever you need one, without cutting or compromising the platform.

    What solar panel works best with this rack?
    It depends on your mounting orientation, so get in touch to confirm compatibility with your setup. East-to-west oriented fixed panels around 170W have worked well for us in the past.
    Do I need factory Mercedes Sprinter roof rails?
    Yes — the platform is designed to bolt straight onto the factory OEM roof rails. If your van doesn’t have them, a direct-to-roof mounting option may still be possible; contact us to talk through your setup.
    Is there room to fit a side ladder?
    Yes. Our side ladders can be installed before or after the rack, and the top mounts to the roof rail for a clean, integrated finish.
    Do you supply solar panel mounting brackets?
    Yes — orientation-specific brackets are available (see the Accessories tab). Contact us to confirm the right brackets for your panel.
    Can I fit an awning to the platform?
    Yes, the platform supports awning installation with a wide range of mounting options for both Fiamma and Thule systems.
    What light bars work with this rack?
    Most bars using 40mm-diameter clamp mounts will fit — Stedi-style clamps are a reliable option.

    Shipping Disclaimer

    Sometimes the incorrect shipping value is calculated when you place an order online. When this occurs a staff member will call or email you and notify you of the accurate shipping quote in which the difference will need to be settled. You will be given the option to cancel the order if you wish.

    Returns and Refund Policy

    You can return an item within 14 days from the date of despatch of your order. Items must be complete, undamaged and in resaleable condition, with all original packaging, tags and documents.

    Refunds, store credit and exchanges

    No refunds after 14 days (store credit or exchange only, at our discretion). Items over $1000 are eligible for store credit or exchange only. A 15% restocking fee applies to change-of-mind returns, to returns made after 14 days and where any packaging or documents are missing. Deposits are non-refundable. Sale and clearance items are non-refundable.

    Returns are processed within 7 business days of receipt. Refunds or store credit (as applicable, less any restocking fee) are issued within 14 days of receipt of the returned item.

    All returns must be authorised first - please contact orders@kombilife.com.au before sending anything back. Faulty, damaged or incorrect items: please notify us within 3 business days of delivery. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not affected.

    Shipping Information

    SHIPPING

    We ship across Australia and New Zealand. All shipments are trackable and you will receive a tracking number upon despatch.

    Australia Post and Express Parcel Post - for smaller items and deliveries to PO Boxes.

    Direct Freight Express - for small items and bulky items, including pallets.

    FedEx / TNT - for lithium batteries and international orders.

    Our shipments are fully insured against loss and damage, ensuring that you will not be at loss should the parcel go missing.

    Note all shipments will require a signature upon delivery. A package that has been signed for cannot be declared as lost, so it is important that you specify your correct delivery address or that of a trustworthy 3rd party if you elect to deliver it to an alternative business address for example.

    Our pallet shipments may be sent to the depot nearest you for collection, as pallet delivery services are not available in all areas.

    Pickup is available from both KombiLife locations. We accept credit card, bank transfer and cash on pickup.
