New California, expanded 4MOTION range & major safety enhancements the highlights.

Volkswagen's iconic T-Series range, in production for over 70 years continuously, is totally updated and refreshed and ready to order from Monday 10th of August at 4pm.

The updated T6 range is significantly expanded, with the introduction for the first time ever in Australia, the legendary California campervan. 

Safety Tech

The T6.1 range has been given a boost in safety, with every van variant coming as standard with Front Assist with City Emergency Braking, Crosswind Assist, Side Assist with Blind spot Monitoring Rear Traffic Alert, Driver Fatigue Detection, Driver and Front passenger front and side/head airbags, Hill-start Assist, Multi-collision Braking, Electronic Stabilisation programme, Traction control, Anti-lock braking system with Brake Assist, Reverse parking sensors and a Rear View Camera.

4MOTION

Big news from our point of view is the expanded offering of 4MOTION in combination with TDI340 110kW engine across the Transporter and Multivan range.

Volkswagen Group Australia, have recognised customers are wanting more 4MOTION variants to choose from and has worked hard to secure them for the Australian market.

T6.1 Crewvan 4MOTION 5-seater Australia with optional rear windows.

For the first time in T6 a Transporter Crewvan is available with 4MOTION - ie, a factory 5-seat Transporter with 4MOTION. The Crewvan will feature twin-sliding doors, opening windows in the sliding doors plus the option of the Rear Diff Lock and Hill Descent Control. Crewvan will be available either SWB or LWB models at $54,490 & $57,490 respectively (excluding on-road costs). Arrival of Crewvan 4MOTION will be from February 2021.

The Multivan in combination with 4MOTION was previously only offered across Highline variants, but now for the first time since 2015, 4MOTION is avaliable across Comfortline Premium variants extending to Long wheelbase. The KombiLife team is particularly excited with the possibilities opened by these combinations - unparalleled in price and performance and capabilities in the Australian market.

The Comfortline Premium is offered with the new Euro6 110kW / 340Nm Single Turbo Diesel Engine. The Highline & Comfortline Exec are offered with the new Euro6 146kW / 450Nm Twin-Turbo Diesel. Both are mated to the 7sp DSG Automatic gearbox. Towing capacity remains unchanged at 2500kg.

Pricing structure is, in our opinion, outstanding with only $3000 extra for 4MOTION and $3000 extra for Long Wheelbase (or $6000 for both).

California Beach

After 30 years of continuous production, the legendary California finally reaches Australian shores. Whilst there is so much to say about this exciting model in a follow-up newsletter, what we will emphasise is that ordering is online-only, and will commence at 4pm on Monday 10th August. If you have your heart set on a California, ensure you are ready to place your non-binding deposit at 4pm. The first allocation of Limited Edition Californias sold out in 9 hours on June 24th. 

California will be offered here in the Beach variation with full-width bed and manual pop-top roof and many many more features, including:
